Vic Lake is the founder of VLA and has been practicing architecture for nearly 40 years. Vic’s passion, experience and determination combined with his design skills has resulted in numerous and varied projects. Vic has established the firms highly regarded reputation consistently delivering high quality and successful projects, which have become synonymous with a new generation of lifestyle apartments.
JEFF DOOLEY

With over 25 years experience overseeing all phases of design, development and construction, Jeff has undertaken Project Management of multiple projects in the Residential, Health, Commercial and Refurbishment / Fitout sectors. Jeff’s construction knowledge in both small and large developments provides an exceptional level of construction detailing and build-ability to all our projects.
NICOLAS PAPAS
Associate Architect
Nicolas undertook his studies at The University of Sydney and Lund University in Sweden. While studying, he worked for a number of small architectural design firms and as a labourer on residential building sites. These experiences have fostered Nic’s passion for providing high quality housing, generally in the form of elegantly designed boutique developments with bespoke detailing.

I believe architecture should be like art, created with emotions. When architecture is brought to life, it should keep it’s essence and be appreciated not only for it’s function, but for that inextricable sensation of beauty that seizes us when we look at it. I love playing with shapes, colours and textures in order to create this emotion for others.

I’ve always loved to be behind the scenes, and as an architect I enjoy orchestrating a space. I love designing the set and creating experiences for the characters who occupy it. I am inspired by the harmony, proportion and contrast that I see in arts.I like food. Unpredictability. And making jokes.

Good architecture to me is like the instant when you catch a good wave. Patience, curiosity, control, feeling one with what you are doing, is what influences my work. Preparing the ground combining accuracy and aesthetic is what allows me as an architect to be there at the right moment.
